This week's assignment is really exciting to me because this will be my first ever zine! Making a collaborative zine with the class got me thinking about what aspects I liked and where I will go with this topic. My favorite part was definitely making the characters so I have been thinking of ways to design them and pick a setting that would fit them in. Right now I am thinking about having my main character be a cowboy of some sort and then a little side-kick that I have not decided on. I am struggling to think of how the images will flow together and how the story will go, but I think working off the characters will come naturally and I will be able to get something good. For the setting, I think it makes sense to have the cowboy in a western-desert type of environment. I have not decided if he should be in a setting that does not match his typical vibe, but I think I will decide once I know what type of side-kick he has. I think it would make for an interesting story if he was underwater or something, but it would be more of a classic with him in the wild west. We will see! My first attempts at drawing this character out are not going as well as planned, but digitally I have a clear idea of how I want it to look. The pictures posted are some of my inspiration.
