BIO
Hi! My name is Colette, I am 19 years old and a sophomore at CU Boulder. I am about to transfer into majoring in Strategic Communications with a minor in Art. I grew up in New Jersey on the coast with a big family, along with two dogs, Lilly and Levi, and my lizard Ishmo. I loved growing up there because I am five minutes from the beach and forty-five away from NYC where my two sisters live. I love to spend time in the city because I think there is such a creative atmosphere there. People are constantly creating new types of art while still appreciating the old which I think is an incredible thing.
I don't think I have found my specific art style yet. This will be my first art class at CU Boulder; however, from doing sketches or small things at home I found that I am definitely not a realistic painter and I like more simplistic work. I love being creative and forcing my mind to make something out of thin air. I believe art is one of the most important things on Earth and that everyone can accomplish artistic succession if they allow themselves to embrace the creativity and flow of art. I hope this year I will find my specific calling in art, but if not I am ready to go with the flow of anything that comes my way!
